It's hard to find a balance between a quick breakfast and a healthy breakfast. Eggs are always an easy go to, but sometimes it's easy to get tired of eggs every day. Try our Cherry Almond Granola, which you can prepare ahead of time for the whole week!
We like to use our Sugar Plum Cherry Almonds combined with some more dried cherries, a bit of honey and sunflower seeds. This recipe is very easy and only takes about 5-10 minutes of active time, then about 20 minutes in the oven. Take half an hour to make this recipe and you can enjoy the granola all week long, or gift it to a friend! Who wouldn't be happy with homemade granola?
Preheat Oven to 325 degrees Ingredients:
1.5 cups quick oats
1/2 cup dried cherries (set aside until end of recipe)
1/2 cup Sugar Plum Cherry Almonds
1/4 cup sunflower seeds
4 tablespoons honey
2 tablespoons butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon salt
1. Melt butter, honey, and vanilla extract in microwave or on stovetop completely. Stir to combine.
2. Combine all of the dry ingredients (oats, seeds, almonds) in a medium sized bowl. Do *not* add the cherries yet! If they go into the oven they will become hard rocks instead of delicious dried cherries.
3. Pour the melted butter and honey mixture over the dry ingredients. Using a spatula, fold the ingredients until they are all wet with honey and butter.
4. Spread your granola mixture onto a sheet pan. Bake for approximately 20 minutes or until golden brown. Stir it at least three times while baking so it doesn't burn on one side! Allow it to cool completely before touching. It will become crunchy once cooled!
